Our Story
In the 1960's, a woman named Luella Grobe prayed that God would bring an Alliance church closer to her hometown of Lacarne, Ohio. A few years later, in 1972, God would answer that prayer through a small group of Christians, including Mrs. Grobe, who began meeting in a Hall about 7 miles away from Oak Habor, Ohio. Soon land would be purchased west of town and that small band of Christians would leave the Hall and start meeting in the three bedroom house on the property. A few years later a new church building would be constructed to facilitate the ministries of the church.
Over the last 50 years God has used Oak Harbor Alliance Chapel to share the love and hope of Jesus Christ with countless numbers of people, both here in Northwest Ohio, and around the world through Alliance Missions. On top of that, generations of families have come to call the Chapel their church home. This all came about because one woman from Lacarne, Ohio had the faith to pray a prayer and believe God for what only He could do.
The story of Oak Harbor Alliance Chapel is that God still answers prayer. He still comforts the lonely and the broken hearted. He still seeks out the lost so they might be found. He still gives hope to the hopeless. He still heals our bodies. He still restores our relationships. He still saves us from our sin and gives us His eternal life. He is still the same God, yesterday, today and forever.
What is exciting for us, is the fact that God is not done yet. He continues to write the story of Oak Harbor Alliance Chapel. We are looking forward with great anticipation towards the future, and all that our awesome God has in store for us.

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
- Philippians 1:3-6
